Many things about my life have changed

How has climate change effected me?   A great deal.  I spent this July studying the "Estimation of Primary Productivity and Particle Export Rates as a Function of Phytoplankton Community Structure in the Bering Sea." I was awarded a grant by the ARMADA project, funded by the NSF.  I spoke to scientists first hand about the effects of global climate change and the anthropogenic causes.

I carpool to work and more than 50% of my bulbs in my home are energy- efficient.   When one blows, I buy an energy efficient one.  I recycle metals, plastics, and paper.  I changed my thermostats in my home to be programmable and keep my heat off a lot and stay in my room with my fireplace.  I drive around my neighborhood and collect wood and split it myself.  I am trying to lower my carbon footprint.  I am no hypocrite, I do own 4 cars but if I put 500 miles a year on the 2 that are old, that is a lot.  I also own a SUV.  That is why I carpool.  Here in the northeast it is only a mater of time before we are hit regularly by hurricanes.  We were just missed by Ike.

It is a privilege to live here on earth, not a right.
