so many changes!

I've made so many changes and I keep finding more that I want to change. I've changed almost all the bulbs in my home to CFLs and that included investing in some inexpensive switches to replace dimmer switches. I've also started unplugging electronics that are not in use. These two actions brought my electric bill down 25%. Good for the earth and my pocket!
Additionally, I've bought reusable grocery/ shopping bags and have greatly limited my use of baggies by packing my lunch items in small containers. I invested in a "Wrap-n-mat," a reusable sandwich wrapper that serves as a place mat as well. I have tried to greatly limit my purchasing of packaged foods, opting for "real foods" that don't come in any packaging at all. I'm also more conscious about where my fruits and vegetables are grown, and try to buy produce that is grown close to home.
I try to combine errands to limit my driving and carpool whenever possible.
At work, I keep a stack of paper that has been used on one side in my printer and only use new paper when necessary. I've also helped with the initiation of school-wide recycling, educating staff and students on more environmentally friendly habits. [I’m a teacher, and] made my classroom a "No Disposable Water Bottle" zone, encouraging students to bring in reusable bottles. Students were very receptive and are willing to join in the green movement with me!
